 ICT as a Communicative Tool.

A communicative tool is type of ICT resource that helps share information, express ideas, and interact with others. It is any application, software, or technology that facilitates communication between teachers and students, or among student themselves. It allows two-way communication process between sender and receiver.


                    

Some of the communicative tools are:
        👉 Email, chatrooms, and discussion forums.
           👉 Video conferencing tools (Zoom, Google                             Meet)
                👉 Messaging Apps (WhatsApp, telegram)
                    👉 Collaborative Platforms (Google Docs,                          Padlet, Idea board)


Using those ICT Tool as communicative tool in education, it enables teachers and students to exchange ideas, collaborate, and build knowledge together- even beyond classroom walls.
For example: students discuss a topic on a class WhatsApp, Telegram or Google Classroom.

CLASSROOM INTEGRATION: EXAMPLE ACTIVITY

Activity title: Weather Discussion site
Class level: Class four.
Subject: English.

Objective: To develop writing, reading and communication skills through real digital communication.

ICT Tool Integrated: Email, Padlet, or Google Classroom and Idea board.





Using those tools to let students discuss on topic weather.
Write the meaning of Weather?
Types of weather with their own characteristics.







As a teacher, using I CT as a communicative tool is important because it transforms the classroom into an interactive, connected, and engaging learning environment.

 ICT tools like Google Classroom, Padlet, or Discussion forum allows student to share ideas, ask questions, and respond to peers.
        Instead of being passive listeners, students become active participants in their learning.
        It encourages critical thinking and problem-solving through discussion and collaboration.


✌ Encourages Collaboration and Teamwork.
 With tools such zoom breakout rooms, Google Docs, or Microsoft Teams, students can work together in real time, even if they are in different places. 
         This helps build teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
          It mirrors how people work collaboratively in modern digital world.


👤 Prepares students for the digital world.
ICT communication tools (emails, chats, video conferencing) are part of real-life communication in today's world.
         By using them in class, teachers prepare students to be digitally competent citizens.
          It aligns education with 21st-century skills: communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
